Seneca @ York University held a day long fundraising event on January 21.  The student run event known as “Aftershock” encouraged students and faculty members to donate money for relief efforts in earthquake stricken Haiti.

The event raised money by hosting a concert in the school’s cafeteria and by setting up various venues such as a popcorn stand and a pin making station where students could make pins with their pictures on them.  All funds from these venues went directly to the cause.

The campus announced on January 25 that the event managed to raise a  total of $7,897 that will go directly to Doctors Without Borders which is a crucial organization that is offering assistance in Haiti.
